We fell in love with Indonesia almost instantly. It's been on our list to visit for a long time and we couldn't wait to get there! When I say we visited Indonesia, I mean that we only really saw a fraction of it including Bali, Lombok and the Gili Islands.

We were pretty excited when we received the Liebster Award. What is this you might ask? It's basically an award given from one blogger to another with the goal to recognize and discover new blogs.

Our initial plan was to spend two weeks in the Philippines and split that time between two or three of the 7,500 islands! We did some research and a few came up that caught our attention...

We were not ready to leave Sri Lanka. It meant leaving the cool beach towns, small villages and friendly locals. At the same time, we've heard some pretty good things about Kuala Lumpur so we were pumped anyway.

A couple of days ago we went to check out a coffee plantation just north of Ubud. There are many in Bali because this island has the perfect conditions for coffee beans to grow. We decided to visit Bali Pulina Agro Tourism. We were really curious about the Kopi Luwak coffee. It's regarded as the most expensive coffee in the world.

"What's your favourite country so far?" We get asked that a lot. If we had to pick one, we'd have to say Sri Lanka. We had no idea what to expect before visiting this beautiful country, but the two weeks we spent there was barely enough time to get a taste of the country's diversity and character. If we could do it all over again, we would have stayed for a few months.

So this is probably obvious to some of you, but this country is not ideal for backpackers. I don't know what I was expecting, but I was hoping that we were going to be able to manage seeing a couple of cities in this country on our backpacker budget. We were SO wrong. This country is not backpacker friendly and it most certainly doesn't offer backpacker prices. If you decide to visit Abu Dhabi or Dubai make sure you bring a full wallet or two because there's no other way to enjoy yourself. Despite being strapped for cash, we still manages to have a great time thanks to Jen and all he amazing people we met.

It's probably the worst time to travel for Canadians. The dollar couldn't be weaker and being in London made us feel extremely poor. Everything we bought, we had to double in price. A cappuccino was between $7 and $8, which meant that I had to cut down on my coffee consumption. Not cool.

Yes it was. If you are looking for a good time, go to Ireland. The Irish certainly know how to party, so you better step up your game and build up that tolerance because the Irish people can DRINK!
The first thing I noticed was how green everything was. I guess it makes sense considering how much rain they get throughout the year. Oddly enough, we lucked out and had quite a few sunny days. The second thing was how much more affordable everything was - and yes, compared to Iceland, Ireland was very affordable! Last but not least, the people are beyond friendly and everyone always went out of their way to help us out no matter where we went.

I'll get straight to the point - Iceland is EXPENSIVE! If you plan on visiting get ready to blow through your money fast especially if you want to eat well and stay in nice hotels. Because we are travelling for a year and on a tight budget we had to figure out how to see as much of the country as possible and spend as little as possible.

Good question. I'll be honest - I thought packing for a year would be easy. Less stuff = less stress, right? Oh boy, was I wrong! When it came time to figure out what I was going to bring, I laid out a bunch of things on the bed - clothes, shoes, bathing suits, my camera, laptop and whatever else you can think of when going on a trip. Since military style packing proved to be very effective in the past, I started rolling everything like crazy. I was on a roll...or so I thought!
